Restaurant Week-Pt 1: Aquavit

Jarvis and I have made a few reservations for Restaurant Week. My mom came to town today so we had to celebrate and kick off Resto Week with her! Our first stop was at Aquavit.
We were hoping for a Chef Marcus Samuelsson sighting--but gladly willing to settle for good food and convos. The restaurant is elegantly simple-the entrance is barely detectable.

Our 3 courses were delicious. I had the butternut squash soup, the swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and ligonberries and The Most Amazing Dessert--The Artic Circle. The food was so delicious and we toasted champagne to MLK's memory and Obama's future. We had a super cute waitress--a singer/actress ( I know that probably goes without saying).

BTW--have you seen these rain boots? They combine everything that is good-knee-high boots-crocodile-JIMMY CHOO...need I say more?

L WORD PREMIERE!

Tonight the Human Rights Campaign, hosted the L Word Season 6 Premiere Parties all across the country. The Imans were out and about-adding to the scenery at Pascha-an awesome club with 5 or 6 floors packed to the max. The DJs were a little under :(-but there was at least 45 minutes of good music upstairs on the 4th floor that gave us some good dance time.

BTW__It was also good to see Anya--who has the cutest Louise Brooks hairdo!

Ok, let's get into this show, honey. Lucy Lawless, aka Xena, the warrior princess- is the new cast member-starring as the brash police officer investigating Jenny's death. The crowd went wild. But not as wild as when Jenny's cold, lifeless body was wheeled out on a stretcher.....death to that crazy bitch!!!I won't give any spoliers here--but I will say there was definately not enough Max---and Papi is back(aye carumba!!!). It was really cool to watch the show with, about 800 other people.
